Can you merge Amazon accounts as a seller?

Quick answer

Can you merge Amazon accounts? Mostly no. Two seller accounts that both sell in the same marketplace cannot be merged: Amazon's own system rejects the request. What Amazon does support is one unified account per region (one login for the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil) and linking regional accounts so the plan fee is capped. The rule is one account per region unless you have a legitimate business need.

Key takeaways

  • Amazon's rule, as its staff quote it: one Seller Central account per region, unless there is a legitimate business need and every account is in good standing.
  • Accounts that sell in the same marketplace cannot be merged. Amazon's system returns that exact error.
  • The North America and Brazil unified account already covers the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil under one login. Linking it to a Europe account caps the Professional fee at the equivalent of USD 39.99 a month.
  • If one of your accounts is not in good standing, Amazon may deactivate all of them. A second account multiplies risk, it does not spread it.

What is Amazon's rule on multiple seller accounts?

Amazon's policy sits in its Selling policies and seller code of conduct, which needs a Seller Central sign-in to read. Amazon staff have quoted it word for word in the public Seller Forums: you may only maintain one Seller Central account for each region in which you sell, unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing.

Amazon staff list three examples of a legitimate business need:

  • You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each.
  • You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies.
  • You are recruited for an Amazon program that requires separate accounts.

The same reply carries the warning that matters most: if any of your accounts are not in good standing, Amazon may deactivate all of your selling accounts until all of them are.

Can you merge two Amazon seller accounts into one?

Not when both accounts sell in the same marketplace. A seller who followed Seller Support's advice to open a new Canada account and merge it later got this error from Amazon's system: accounts, irrespective of their status, that exist in the same marketplace cannot be merged. An Amazon staff member replied that creating a secondary account to merge later may not be an option, because the old account probably already had Canada in an inactive state.

So the honest answer to how to merge Amazon accounts is: you usually do not. You consolidate. Pick the account with the stronger history, move your selling activity there, and close the other one once its orders, returns and balances have cleared. Get Seller Support's answer for your case in writing before you change anything.

Practitioner note, not Amazon documentation: product reviews live on the product detail page, so they stay with the ASIN whichever of your accounts sells it. Seller feedback, account health metrics and payment history belong to the account and do not move.

What is a unified Amazon seller account?

A unified account is Amazon's own answer to wanting one account in several countries. You do not merge anything: one regional account covers several stores.

From Amazon's Global Selling and Sell in Europe pages, checked 7 October 2026.
AccountWhat it coversHow you get it
North America and Brazil unified accountUS, Canada, Mexico and Brazil from one login; you switch between the Amazon.com, Amazon.ca and Amazon.com.mx selling tools in Seller CentralYour US Professional account, or the first account you create

Each region carries its own Professional plan fee, but Amazon says that if you link your global selling accounts, the monthly fee becomes the equivalent of USD 39.99 or the sum of the plan fees for the regions where you have active listings, whichever is lower.

How do I merge Amazon accounts across countries?

You link them rather than merge them. The order Amazon describes:

  1. Keep one home account. If you sell in the US, your North America and Brazil unified account already covers Canada, Mexico and Brazil. Do not open separate accounts for those stores.
  2. Open Sell Globally in Seller Central. Amazon says to create regional Europe and other country accounts from the Sell Globally dashboard, not through a fresh registration.
  3. Link the regional accounts. Linked accounts share one sign-in and the capped plan fee described above.
  4. Check registration rules per region. Amazon notes that registration requirements differ by region and country, so prepare the documents each one asks for.

When is a second Amazon seller account a bad idea?

Any time the reason is not one of Amazon's examples. In our experience the risky reasons are the common ones: opening a fresh account after a suspension, splitting slow or problem SKUs off to protect metrics, or testing a product line you would rather keep away from your main brand. Amazon associates accounts that share people, devices, payment or business details, and the deactivation rule above means a problem in one account can stop all of them.

If a suspension is why you are looking at a second account, fix the first one instead. Our account health team handles suspension appeals as a one-off case at $1,200, with no plan needed.

Questions

Questions, answered.

01

Can you merge Amazon accounts?

Not when both seller accounts sell in the same marketplace. Amazon's system rejects that merge. You can link regional accounts under one sign-in, and the North America and Brazil unified account already covers four stores from one login.

02

How do I merge Amazon accounts in different countries?

Link them. Keep your North America and Brazil unified account, then create or link a Europe or other regional account from the Sell Globally dashboard in Seller Central. Linked accounts pay the lower of the equivalent of USD 39.99 a month or the sum of the regional plan fees.

03

Can I have two Amazon seller accounts?

Only with a legitimate business need and with every account in good standing. Amazon's examples are separate businesses for separate brands, manufacturing for two distinct companies, or an Amazon program that requires separate accounts.

04

What happens to my reviews if I move products to another account?

Product reviews sit on the product detail page, so they stay with the ASIN. Seller feedback and account health metrics belong to the selling account and do not move with the products.

05

Will Amazon suspend all my accounts if one is suspended?

It can. Amazon staff quote the policy that if any of your accounts are not in good standing, Amazon may deactivate all of your selling accounts until all of them are in good standing.
